Monday, April 5th, 2010: The
Toronto Tornados have finalized a deal with the
Killarney Bruisers for the services of 19-year-old reliever
Esteban Canseco, 22-year-old reliever
Zachary Rayner, 20-year-old starting pitcher
Luis Archuleta, 24-year-old center fielder
Stewart Trounson and 26-year-old catcher
Gayeff Ishenin. In exchange, the Bruisers will receive
29-year-old starting pitcher
Hugo Schmit.
Schmit has chalked up a lifetime ERA of 4.03 with 4 victories
and 2 defeats. He has totaled 73 career strikeouts in 96 innings
while holding opponents to a .275 batting average.

Toronto Tornados had swapped 21-year-old starting pitcher
Si-hun Kang, 22-year-old minor league second baseman

Ángel Rodríguez, 22-year-old minor league starting pitcher
Jean-Marie François, 22-year-old minor league starting pitcher
Marc Innes and $500,000 in cash to the
Hiroshima Carp. In return
Toronto will receive 29-year-old starting pitcher
Hugo Schmit and 15-year-old minor league third baseman
Juan Aybar.

José Ledesma. Both teams expect to introduce their new players

Tu-fu Huang suffered a fractured wrist while making a defensive
play in today's game. After the doctor informed the
Gander Pilots manager that Huang was expected to miss 6 weeks,
the manager told the press that the rest of the team would have to
step up their play until the center fielder could return. "You can't
make excuses in baseball, because there's always a game tomorrow,"
said the team's skipper.

News for Winnipeg, Ashley Injured
Saturday, March 27th, 2010: The injury bug
struck
Dan Ashley of the Bombers today in the game against Buckeyes.
The 25-year-old starting pitcher was hurt while throwing a pitch and
will miss 9 months with a torn rotator cuff.

Esparza Out of Action
Friday, March 26th, 2010:
José Esparza of the
Cleveland Indians could be headed for the disabled list after
suffering forearm tendinitis in a game against the
Tucson Teddy Bears. He is expected to miss at least 2 weeks. The
Cleveland closer was injured throwing a pitch.

MR Alvare Alpedrinha Injured
Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010:
Halifax fans will be disappointed to learn that
Alvare Alpedrinha suffered a sprained ucl while throwing a pitch
in today's game. After the doctor informed the
Halifax Mooseheads manager that Alpedrinha was expected to miss
4 weeks, the manager told the press that the rest of the team would
have to step up their play until the reliever could return. "You
can't make excuses in baseball, because there's always a game
tomorrow," said the team's skipper.

Friday, March 19th, 2010: Both sides appear
content with the trade finalized today that will send 29-year-old
shortstop
Johnny Rodgers and 23-year-old minor league starting pitcher
Patrick Moore to the
Seville Express, while the
New York Bad Boyz will receive 31-year-old reliever
Alphonse Sittig, 22-year-old minor league starting pitcher
Thomas Bilias and $2,491,500 in cash. "We feel this is a move
that filled a few gaps in our roster," said the Bad Boyz general
manager. For his part, the Express GM said the trade was made "in
the best interest of our organization's future." BNN analysts
reported that on paper the trade seemed to be a plus for both ball
clubs. The players involved are expected to join their new teams for
the next scheduled game.
Rodgers boasts a lifetime batting average of .225 with 71 hits,
8 homers, 42 runs scored and 42 RBIs.

Monday, March 15th, 2010: Lost in all the
hoopla of today's amateur draft are the young men who won't be going
first, tenth or even fiftieth. Many of them will probably never make
Major League Internet Baseball rosters, but one and all will be
spurred on by the possibility that someday they'll be playing on a
championship club.
Victoria,
Windsor,
Halifax,
Vancouver and
Las Vegas will have the first five choices. BNN analysts report
that these players are likely to be high picks in the 2010 draft:

Sunday, March 14th, 2010:
Gander's
Diego Castro and
Red Deer's
Gilberto Trinidad have been handed 5-game suspensions for their
parts in yesterday's upheaval at Ballpark of Ottawa. The teams were
notified today that the suspensions would go into effect
immediately. According to the league commissioner
Castro and
Trinidad provoked and incited the brawl and bore the blame for
what transpired.

and García Suspended, Out 5 Games
Friday, March 12th, 2010:
Al Simmons of the
Toronto Tornados and
Sergio García of the
Victoria Vulcans will be on the sidelines for a few days. They
have been suspended 5 games apiece by the league office for causing
the bench-emptying free-for-all at the recent Tornados-Vulcans game
at Ballpark of Toronto.
Neither player had any comment about the suspensions. Both clubs
told BNN

García will begin serving them soon.

Trade Includes Frisch and Jourdan
Friday, March 12th, 2010: The
New York Bad Boyz made a major move this afternoon, shipping
32-year-old second baseman
Frankie Frisch to the
Milan Mud Sharks for 30-year-old reliever
Samuel Jourdan. The Bad Boyz general manager, explaining the
trade, said: "To add a player of this ability, you've got to give up
a good player. That's just how it works."
Frisch has played in 135 games with a .315 career batting
average and 144 hits. He also has scored 64 runs and driven in 46
runs with 4 home runs.

Bonilla to Miss 3 Weeks

Toronto Tornados have reportedly worked out a deal with the
Munich Border Cats. Sources close to the Tornados indicated that
a trade has been reached in principle where 20-year-old right

Vanni Cedronelli will be swapped to
Toronto with 22-year-old minor league center fielder
Regis Barberi and 26-year-old minor league starting pitcher
Ramón Caballero heading to
Munich. Neither organization would comment on the report, saying
it was club policy not to speak about a trade until it was
finalized.

II News: Draft Pool Revealed
Saturday, February 13th, 2010: Major League
Internet Baseball today released the final list of all players
eligible for next month's rookie draft. Now that the list has been
made official, close scrutiny of these players can be expected as
scouts begin to review this year's up and coming talent.
BNN has added to its Transactions page a section dedicated to the
draft pool, which will be available 30 days prior to draft day.
